This article, as part of a number of studies on teacher's feelings of efficacy, reports on two studies whose aim is to translate the Teacher efficacy scale (Gibson and Dembo, 1984) into French and to validate this instrument which is the most often used to examine this concept. The method used was that inspired by Vallerand (1989). In the first study, reliability and internal consistency were examined : factor analyses were developed on data from a sample of future teachers. In the second study, factor analyses were developed on data from a sample of practicing teachers. The results provided information on the psychometric qualities of the French version of the Teacher efficacy scale.
